One-on-One Spiritual Coaching

If you have begun a relationship with Jesus, it's our prayer that you will likewise intentionally follow Him. We take seriously His directive to "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:18-20)

One of the primary ways that we help you grow as a disciple of Jesus is through a one-on-one discipleship relationship by way of a coach approach. A spiritual coach is someone who comes alongside you to help you be a genuine disciple of Christ. His/her role is to help you continue to move along the path of following Jesus. Your coach will be on the journey with you. He/she will not be over you, but will assume an attitude of humility. We are all learning to follow Jesus. Your coach is there to help. He/she won't have all the answers, and the focus will be on you - not your coach. While you will be reading and studying the book, Learning to Follow Jesus (available for you to purchase at both the Mills and Oakmont campuses), the goal is not just the completion of material. It is growing in the seven qualities of the follower of Jesus.

Are you ready to embark on this exciting journey?

Becoming a Spiritual Coach at RCC

Becoming a Spiritual Coach at RCC means walking alongside others on their journey with Christ, equipping them to grow in faith while growing yourself in humility, understanding, and intentional discipleship.

A Spiritual Coach is one who comes alongside another person to help him or her become an authentic follower of Christ.

  • Have previously gone through Follow One-on-One Spiritual Coaching here at RCC.
  • Will receive proper training and become equipped with the right tools to become a successful coach.
  • Are on the same journey as the individual they are coaching.
  • Are also learning to follow Jesus...they have not "arrived."
  • Are not "over" the person receiving coaching.
  • Will assume an attitude of humility.
  • Will not have all the answers.
  • Are not counselors.

In six weekly gatherings, you will learn how to make disciples like Jesus did using a coach approach. You don’t have to have all the answers, and you will quickly recognize that you’ve not arrived. You’re simply on the journey with someone else to intentionally aid them in growing in the seven attributes of the follower of Jesus as outlined in the book.

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." - Proverbs 27:17
