Donations of Appreciated Securities

There may be significant advantages to donating appreciated securities, such as stocks, rather than cash. Riverside can receive gifts such as these! See your tax preparer to inquire if you should take advantage of this unique way of giving. She will put you in touch with RCC’s Impact Fund Trust Officer, who will assist you in making your gift. These kinds of gifts take a little more time than regular gifts of cash and check or by credit card, so keep that in mind. There are also creative ways to give through an IRA account for individuals age 70 ½ and older. See your tax preparer to inquire if this will be a good option for you.
